Quick Review Of Vivo V9- Should You Buy This One?

Ever since Apple announced iPhone X, budget smartphone brands have been trying to offer similar design and display, of course at a lower price. Vivo V9 is one of the latest launches in the same line, which brings a great display with a competent selfie camera that Vivo was always known for. Vivo V9 price in India is around Rs. 23,000, but online stores do have a few offers. Should you lay on your hands on this one? Below is a fast-forward review for your help!

Specifications at a glance

At its core, Vivo V9 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, matched with 64 GB of inbuilt memory and 4 GB RAM. It gets Android 8.1 right out of the box, with custom Funtouch OS 4.0 UI. Expectedly, the display of the device remains one of the most unique features. This is a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with resolution of 1080×2280 pixels, which almost covers the entire frontal panel – In fact, screen-to-body ratio is 90% according to the brand, and this is a pretty light device to hold at just 150 grams. Please note that this is a dual-SIM device, with Nano-SIM slots. Onboard storage can be expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card. Vivo ships the device with a screen protector.

The device gets a 3260mAh battery, which is pretty decent. Coming to the camera, there are two on the rear – 16MP main camera and a 5MP one. It has a 24MP shooter on the front. Connectivity options include USB OTG, FM, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. All the basic sensors, including Ambient light sensor and Proximity sensor, are included.

Final verdict

Asus has announced devices with a display notch, but people in India haven’t accessed that as yet. So, yes, Vivo V9 brings the first device with that feature. If you are interested in that, this is the phone for you. Other than that, the display of the phone is great, and it does have decent hardware. Vivo cameras have never disappointed, which is again true with V9. If you wish to save some bucks, go for something like Honor 9 Lite. Honor 9 Lite price in India is lower at 17k, although the devices are pretty different. In terms of design, it may have similar looks as Moto X4 in the same range but doesn’t feel as premium.

Overall, V9 does offer bang for your buck.
